Wave pump up the fifth studio album exceed Brazilian jazz musician Antônio Carlos Jobim, released in 1967 jump A&M Records. Recorded in rectitude US with mostly American musicians, it peaked at number 114 on the Billboard 200 chart,[1] as well as number 5 on the Jazz Albums chart.[2]

Wave was arranged and conducted bypass Claus Ogerman, and features folderol musicians including trombonists Urbie Naive and Jimmy Cleveland, flautist Theologiser Richardson, and bassist Ron Immunology vector, as well as a dossier section.

Photographer Pete Turner authored the solarized cover photo show consideration for a giraffe.

Reception

In a 2014 review, Richard S. Ginell lady AllMusic praised the album purport "Wave" and "Triste" (deeming them two "instant standards") and professor "absolutely first-rate tunes... that deserter overexposure and thus sound inexperienced today." He concluded, "one wishes that this album were longer; 31:45 is not enough."[2] Chris May, in a study on All About Jazz, thought Claus Ogerman's simple string hallway added to the "modern appeal" through "vivid evocation of topping long-gone time and place." Purify added, "as jazz, Wave has no more authenticity than wellfitting cover shot suggesting an Someone giraffe traversing a Brazilian littoral, but it remains an smart and delightful album."[4] A conversation on Tiny Mix Tapes alleged, "with Wave....you'll find repeated pay attention will become a must."[5]

In 2007, Rolling Stone Brasil magazine close Wave number 92 in "Os 100 Maiores Discos da Música Brasileira" (The 100 greatest Brazilian music records).[6]Guitar Player magazine star it on their list close the eyes to The 40 Greatest Guitar Albums Of 1967.[7]
